About

Dante Atkins is a communicator, humorist and pundit, currently based in Washington, D.C. After escaping what felt like an indefinite sentence working in Congress, Dante is currently under quarantine in a futile attempt to ride out a global pandemic.

Dante is the founder and principal of Atkins Strategies, a boutique political consulting firm. He has political commentary bylines in The Guardian, ATTN, Daily Kos, and other fine and not-so-fine news outlets. He has studied satire with The Second City, and has written about cults, white privilege, and capitalism in fantasy worlds—all based on personal experience.

In a previous life, Dante was a homeschooled classics and linguistics academic. In his college years, he wrote Latin dialogue for Buffy the Vampire Slayer but was too nerdy to realize just how much social capital that could have gained him. His regret is eternal.

On January 6, 2017,, during Dante’s first and only episode of Jeopardy!, Alex Trebek called Dante "not a well person" in front of millions of viewers. As the saying goes, truth can't be libel.
